Islamic Center Of Kansas

ICK's Founding Principals

The strong "foundation" of any organization is vital to carry out its mission, purpose, and objectives. ICK operates within the bounds of the laws, rules, and regulations that are relevant to non-profit democratic communal and Islamic organization.

The foundation of ICK is built and safeguarded by Constitution (bylaws), policy, and procedures. ICK's reputation for integrity is one of its most valued assets and is maintained by transparency in the management of the center.

Community Participation

ICK is funded through the membership fees and donations which formulate ICK as a public not for profit organization. This allows equal opportunity to all members to participate on all levels of voluntary management. Any Muslim 18 years or older (male or female) residing in the Kansas City metropolitan area can become an ICK member. All members are required to accept and abide to ICK bylaws, policies, and procedures.

General Body

ICK registered members make all major financial and structural decisions according to ICK bylaws with consensus. General Body nominates and elects all board and executive officers through voting process managed by independent election commission (selected from the general body members).

Board of Directors

These seven elected members are the principal officers of the ICK. They are responsible to ensure that all activities of the center are in accordance with the constitution and bylaws. Board of Director members are responsible to make policies and procedures, and oversee the management and activities of the center.

Executive Committee (EC)

These seven elected members are responsible to execute policies and decisions of the "General Body" and "BOD", to plan, manage, and execute the day-to-day activities in order to accomplish the purpose and objectives of the center.
